Well, every parent should cry. Their son/daughter is leaving. It's ok to cry like a baby. You may embarrass them but well, at least they really know you care. When they are a kid they want their parents gone but as they grow up, they start to respect you. They are starting to feel how it feels to be an adult. In college they probably cry to missing you guys. It's okay. My mom will cry when my brother goes but we know he is going to visit. For me, im going to be partying coz he is gone but I am still going to miss him. It's sad when a family member leaves so you can cry all you want. It shows that you really care.

I cried when they went to kindergarten on the first day. I also cried when my son left to join the military (and I still do once in a while).

Aww, you're cool! :) I bet you're a cool mom. I wish my mom stayed up and played on the net and cried at my graduation! She's kind of a fuddy duddy.

I don't yet, but my parents cried when I did. I'm the youngest of four, which we all did graduate. They cried when each of us did.

why? high school is so easy and graduating from high schools is such a petty achievement. you should save your tears for when your son graduates from med school and becomes a successful doctor.
