Neither, carbon dioxide does not come from the burning of cigaretts.

It is carbon monoxide that comes from the smoke. So unless mosquitos are attracted or repeled from something else in the cigarette, a smoker is just as likely to get bitten.

my experience is less. As an ex-smoker I used to get bitten a lot less (at least while I was awake) when I was smoking than now that I have stopped. I think this has to do with most insects natural aversion to smoke, although I'm not 100% certain of that

I used to think that, but I dont think they are fussy who they snack on
