Fear of the unknown hinders equal rights. Probably a better sentence though its verity is probably unknown. All things being equal, you may want to insert something that shows better cause and effect relationship.

screw the english teacher it's fine but,,,,,equal rights kinda died years ago.It is also the reason why more women have to work and pay someone else to watch their kids.In the old days a man could earn enough to support a family if his wife wanted to stay home with the kids.Equal Right's did about as much damage as it did good.
But,two things the world will never really have is equal rights and Equal protection of the law.
