I have a friend who is from Russia who has a friend from India. Well anyway he and her chat all the time. She is having problems with her husband who is American. Well he had the nerve to tell me that her American friends would not understand her and that he would understand her better because he is not from the US. To me that sounded a little discriminating. I am an American woman and I felt quite offended. I feel that she needs to talk to an American to better understand the way her husband is thinking. To me a man will be a man no matter where he is from.

maybe he meant in a diplomatic sense, sometimes people are just that small minded and you have to let them be where they are.

Different cultures definately have different ways of handling things within a marriage. I should know, I married a Polish man and it was very frusterating to me because they are very different.

I think that he wants to "Understand" her in a way that you never could. Like a really, really private way, one that her husband wont like either.
