I've heard people say that guns are bad. Mine have never done anything wrong. Isn't it the person who missuses them the "bad" element in the equation?

Guns are bad when put in the wrong hands. Criminals would still have guns if they took mine and yours. The key for people having guns is education.

The whole problem is that a person will grab for a gun.

True, the gun cannot tell the difference between the good guy and the bad guy, but the tradition in America makes it hard to remove guns from the culture

uh... police use them because the bad guys have guns too... it kinda levels the playing field a bit... You have to admit when the "bad guy" is pointing a gun at the police... do you really think "stop or i'll throw my billy club at you" is gonna do it?

Guns are not bad. They are tools and many tools can be dangerous in the wrong hands. Charlton Heston was right.

Yes. An inanimate object, in and of itself, can neither be good nor bad--it is the manner in which it's used that defines it. Also, keep in mind that good and bad is very much a matter of values and perspectives

Guns are pieces of metal. If pieces of metal are bad, then guns are bad. Guns don't kill people, people kill people with guns. Anyway, my gun has killed fewer people than Ted Kennedy's car.
