My husband and i have been married for 19 years and he has just now told me that he has been miserable for 18 of them... and i just recently discovered he has been having an affiar for the past 3 months. when i confronted him about it he blamed me because i caused the marriage to end and now even though i think it is wrong, he is saying that i am just waiting for that little piece of paper that finalizes the divorce. I am crushed but he feels he has done nothing wrong... what do you thing?

First of all - yes it is still wrong. You are married until you get that piece of paper that says you are divorced. Second of all - DO NOT let him tell you it was your fault. My ex tried the same thing and I was foolish enough to believe him about it. A bad marriage does not give anyone the right to have an affair. What it does give you the right to do is to talk to your spouse about the situation and seek counseling. It take two people to ruin a marriage. He should have talked to you years ago and not now. Lift your head high sweetie. Prove that you are better than him.

Yes it is definitely wrong. If they beleived the marriage was over before, they should have spoken it over with the person they're married to, & seperated or divorced, instead of sneaking around and cheating & causing their spouse more pain.

Absolutely. You are still committing adultery. It's not over until you get divorced. Now, after the divorce don't fall into the hum-drum and start having sex with everyone. Be selective. Good luck in whatever direction you take, but do get divorced first.

Until there is a divorce, it will always be wrong for either of the people of the marriage to be in relationships.

Of course it's still wrong. You shouldn't have sex outside of the marriage and even if the marriage was over, it would be wrong, but just because the person says it's over, doen't mean it is over.

He has done something wrong. Any kind of affair (married or not) is wrong and should not be excusable for any reason.
