Buy a new PS2 then put your old one back in the box (clean it up first) and then take it back to the store (keep the receipt) and tell them the piece of junk doesn't work and you want your money back.

I'm no expert. Make sure it's free of fingerprints. Dust the inside of PS2, using a straw blow into PS2. We have a problem now with it not wanting to accept the silver backed ones. The last PS2 quit accepting the purple backed ones. They sure don't make things like they use to.

U sure the discs ur using are playstation discs? Also DVD's should be proper country code. if nothing works then use a cd cleaner or something like that. u could give it for servicing? Last choice is to buy a new one.

I had the same problem, either buy a new laser, or clean it.
