America is ready for anything that's thrown at her! I live in Mississippi and we were ready! We did not anticipate the amount of damage that it really would cause, but we got up, dusted ourselves off and kept walking!
We are ready for anything in south Mississippi! America has a lot of good people who were there to help us move again! They're still here helping us! Thank you! The govt definitely has to pick up their step and move a little faster next time. Unfortunately, I think this was a MAJOR lesson...but then again...Bush runs this country so you can't expect much. Brown did a POOR job also!
Haley Barbor, Gene Taylor, and Trent Lott have done A LOT for Mississippi!
As far as New Orleans goes...they stayed. Then their wonderful relatives come from out of the woodwork in different parts of the country and complain that no one was there to help them.
WHERE THE HELL WERE THEY WHEN A CATEGORY FIVE STORM WAS ABOUT TO GO THROUGH??? THEY DIDN'T EVEN GO TAKE OWN RELATIVES OUT OF THE PATH!
Shame on the people who could have helped and now complain!

Long before America became America, there were hurricanes. And not one of them was the cause of a natural disaster for more than 12,000 years. Seems to me that if people are dumb enough to live where these things happen, they should be prepared to take care of themselves when it happens. With global warming, the scientists believe we may see catagory 6 and 7 hurricanes in the near future. We ain't seen nothing yet compared to something like that. We don't have a government who's sole purpose it to help people too stupid to help themselves, do we?

Depends how strong and it depends where. Another one like Katrina in the same spot? Hey, by the way, much of the southern coast is still totally destroyed, did you know that? Any kind of strike in southern Mississippi will be terrible. Parts of South Florida are still destroyed from storms in the late 1990s. These things are just absolutely devastating, and unless you have seen the destruction first hand, really, and this is not a put down, you don't comprehend how widespread and how total the damage is.

America never has been and never will be ready for a hurricane. No country is. You just have to deal with it as best you can. Also try to stay positive and be ready and willing to help however you can to get whoever the hurricane hit back on their feet!

No. some resident being interviewed stated it took 25 years to rebuild one hundred% and function issues back to commonplace after typhoon Camille, which became more suitable. yet because of recent Orleans being less than sea aspect besides, so that's nevertheless basically as undesirable. i'm hoping they're spared for a lengthy time period. i'm hoping they not in any respect see that back.

Sure, why not let the government spend some money over in our country. Instead of fighting a never-ending war.
