My children have inherited my great aunt's estate and I have been getting hate e-mails from those in my gerneration. How do I get them to understand that I did not have anything to do with this desicion nor can I control and split what they have received. The court will control it until they reach legal age.

Make a copy of the will, or the appropriate part of it anyway, and draft a letter expllaining your feelings on the matter, and the fact that you have no control over it, or the money.

Say you are sorry they feel upset for your great aunts decision, but you had nothing to do with it, and to please respect you, and any matters regarding this inheritance should be directed to your attorney or whatever.

Good luck hun.

First of all, there is no point in trying to convince relatives, as they prefer to think very selfishly about money related things.... Money has been the number one cause for many splits among families....
So stop trying to prove yourself to them, and establish a friends base with other more sensitive and caring persons.

im so sorry to hear that your family are having jeolousy issues. its always sad to see families at arms over a loved ones death. but unfortunately it happens.

best thing i can tell you is keep your cool. be firm with out being mean. stick to your guns and ignore any lashings out at you personally. keep with your story. and if that doesnt work you might want to threaten not to talk to them again. because its not right that you or your children have been treated this way.

take care, cheer up, and i hope things work out.
