For decorations: Pick a color theme if you know the sex of the baby. If not, then any pastel color combinations are good. I just threw a baby shower for my best friend 2 weeks ago. I hung a clothes line in my living room and hung diapers, bibs, and onesies from it. Everyone loved it! I also pulled out some of my childhood stuffed animals (that are still in good condition) and set them around the room. In the punch bowl I floated a yellow rubber duck. In addition to this I hung up some streamers.

For games:
1. Name That Baby- If your sister hasn't thought of baby names yet, you can make up a worksheet where everyone writes down as many names as they can create in 3 minutes. But, the catch is that the baby names they make have to come from the mom & dad's first names. So, if their names are Sarah & Thomas they could write Thorah, Samas, etc. They don't have to make sense.
2. Pass a baby doll around like the "Hot Potato Game"- Everyone sits in a circle and carefully passes the doll around. Then, one person has to be in charge of stopping the music (without looking). The person holding the baby when the music stops is out. You keep going until it's down to 1 person.
3. Baby charades- Come up with words to act out (diaper change, teething ring, nap time). Divide the guests into 2 teams. 1 player from each team acts out whatever word you show them on a card. The team that guesses their word first wins.

I chose these 3 games because I had never seen them before. Most of the other ones on the Internet I've heard of before, or I figured other people would have played at other showers.
Good luck!

Here are a few games that we played at my baby shower.

1- spell the babys name out writing one letter on a brown bag then put a gift for the mother in each bag that that starts with the same letter as the gift. ex. if the babys name is going to be Debra in the d bag you can put a few Diapers in the e bag Electically plug covers in the b bag Bottles in the r bag a rubber duck in the a bag Aquaphor lotion. Have all the guest write down there guesses. Then go thur each letter and show everyone what is inside the bag.

2- take the babys full name and print it out on a sheet of paper for everyone. Tell everyone they have 3 mins to make as may 3 letter words or more using the letters. Winner has the most words.

3- the toliet paper game. Have quest measure out as much toliet paper they think the moms waist with is.

Hope this helps you out some. good luck.

Games
Baby food tasting game. Take all the labels off of the food and put a number on each jar. Make sure you have a sheet with the contents in the jar to refer to. Give every one a plate and a little sample of the food and have them guess what it is!! It's hilarious to see peoples faces! Make sure you get some goofy dinners, they taste nothing like what they are called.

Baby word scramble? Baby bingo?

Decorations, go to any department store and they will have streamers and balloons. Some have baby decorations too. I always got this poster thing that everyone from the baby shower signed for the baby to be and they got to leave little messages for the baby.

One sure hit game is matching baby socks. You mix up a lot of pairs and whoever makes the most pairs in whatever time you decide wins. Also try filling up a baby bottle with dinner mints and count how many. Have guests guess a number put it on a piece of paper and whoever comes close to the number of mints in bottle wins. You can also choose about 8 different flavor of Gerber baby foods write down the flavors and remove the labels. Label each jar from 1 - 8 and have guest make a list and pass around the jars and have them guess the flavors from 1 - 8. Whoever matches more flavors wins.

i just throw my best friend a baby shower some of the games we played was with baby food you blinfold the people playing and everyone gets a taste of the different variety of baby food and they have to figure out the flavor. what i did for decorations was basic but a neat idea that you could use is take a carboard box medium size and decorated that way you can out the presents there and it would look very nice. good luck hope i helped.

What about comming up with funny baby names. Each person takes a slip of paper and writes down a few funny name combinations for the child's first and last name. Read them aloud. The person with the funniest name gets a prize (or you could have diffrent catagories).

Exampes of funny (or horrible) baby names:
Miles Long
Kitty Cat Katzman
Mattew Isador Bell (I actually knew some named this...)
Dougy Doo
Yaba and Daba Doo (if Dougy was twins)
Sara Money (Ceremony)

then there's the game where they cant say the word baby!
and u need just safety pens, and the have to pen t on their shirt, the main one is one big one and five small one and every time some body says baby and some body hears it they get a Say pen! the there one more we did and it a memory game it wear u put a whole bunch of baby items in a basket and u tell them whats in it and show them the you give the 3 minutes to write down what they remember!

decorations are the easy part.....use a theme if they have one, or pick one that is really cute. go to the party store and get all the decorations to make it look awesome. balloons, streamers, big banner, cake decorations that match the decorations. go all out!!!

games, oh, there are lots of fun ones.
~big bowl of rice, with little tiny saftey pins. blindfold the party goer, and have them try to find the pins, by feeling the rice mixture, and time it. you will be amazed at how hard it is.
~melted candy bars in diapers....have them guess what kind of candy bars it is. ones with nuts is always fun!
~remove the labels off of baby food jars, and make them guess what it is.
~guess the size of the mommy to be, by passing around a roll of toilet paper and having people guess how many squares around she really is.

make sure you have some cute gifts for the winners. you dont have to go all out, but get some fun things.

Here's a game that is slightly warped, but a lot of fun! Get 6-8 candy bars that have the potential to melt. (Reese's, Hersheys, Pay Day, whatever.) Get the same # of clean diapers. After marking them in such a way that you can remember which is which, take out the candy bars, put them in the diapers, and nuke them in the microwave until they start to melt. Then pass them around at the shower and see who can correctly identify what candy bar made which "poopy diaper"!

Dang everyone beat me to all the games I have played except one...cant think of what it is called but you pass everyone a sheet of paper and they hold it behind their back. They have about one minute to try and tear the paper to the shape of a baby. The best baby shape wins. This game is so fun because it is harder than you think to make the shape of a baby. They turn out pretty funny looking sometimes.
