they're going to push for a minimum wage increase. and, conveniently, right in time for an election!
everyone get ready for the class war to begin. I'm really not trying to be mean, but that's what I see coming. I live in a state where minumum wage is far above the national standard, and guess what, the cost of living is higher! So go figure!

The DNC hasn't produced a winning plan since Kennedy and this is not different. They started the story off with a liberal contradiction when they used "tough" and "smart" to describe their position on national security.
If the libs win a few seats in congress it will be because the Republicans forgot their conservative roots and not because the liberal democratic party had a better plan.
The Republicans have failed in three key areas:
1) They have completely blown the immigration issue by allowing millions of illegal insurgents to remain in the US.
2) They spent record sums of money and increased the federal deficit in a time when the economy is capable of producing a surplus.
3) They have failed to act decisively to destroy the insurgency in Iraq and to end the occupation. Its simply taken too long.
These look like the results you would expect from a liberal democratic president and congress not a conservative one.
The Republicans will have nobody to blame but themselves.

I thought the only people in America making minimum wage are the illegals.
Democrat solution to problem X / Campaign strategy for previous and future elections.
1. Raise taxes on the rich.
2. Create a new government beaurocy.
3. Blame Bush.
4. Play race card.

I don't see a coming class war over raising the minimum wage. It hasn't been increased in ten years (including 4 years under another administration) and some "unemployed" won't even apply for work at minimum wage. I'm a staunch Republican (not rich but comfortable, which I think is fair after a lifetime of steady work) and I'll vote for a sensible increase.

What on earth makes you think raising the minimum wage would lead to any class conflicts we don't already have? What could be worse than the sub-poverty plight of minimum wage workers while CEOs at the other end of the spectrum take home tens of millions of dollars, much of this profit earned by keeping their laborers in poverty? An increase might not solve the problem, but it couldn't make things worse, and it would help these people to at least afford minimal food and shelter.

Indeed, raising the minimum wage would force employers to charge more for their products in order to make a profit (or to even not lose money), thus raising the cost of living for everybody else
Yes, raising the minimum wage would be great but its effects on the rest of America are not worth it

I say bring on the class warfare!!! It is high time that the underprivileged hard workers of this country rise up against the few elites making 100 times more then the average worker. It is time to level the playing field.

In 2001, so-said as economic Conservatives were screaming that we were going to pay off the nationwide Debt TOO right now. How did we bypass from that to a being a hollow so deep lets under no circumstances dig out of it? in only 10 short years!?!?
