Winston Churchill. He took over for a Britain under Chamberlain who followed a policy of appeasement. Chamberlain let Hitler take over whatever countries he wanted in WWII until he inevitably set his sights on the vastly outnumbered Britain. Churchill came in and was an absolute bada$$, and one of the greatest speakers of all time. Rousing the troops, particulalry after the disastrous Battle of Dunkirk, to fight against the far more numerous German Luftwaffe for several months. The result of his efforts was an unprecedented victory, making them the only country who held strong against Germany in Europe until America joined the war. If Chamberlain had remained in charge, Britain gets beat, Germany battles Russia on only one front and wins, then they set their sights on America.

Elizabeth I. She took a bankrupt country & made it prosper. She held out against a bunch of men who told her she needed to marry in order to retain control of her country. She managed to control her country without killing off a bunch of Catholics or Protestants. She was a pretty kick-a$$ woman especially for her time period.
