I don't know daycare's rules, but I would think if they take newborns they know the immunization schedule. The first shots they get are not usually things they're likely to catch anymore, though the possibility is always there, that's why the whole wash your hands before touching baby, be wary of other people holding your newborn and such.
On the other hand, I do have to agree with some other posters (although I wish to put it lovingly and not accusatory!) if you have the option of not putting you baby in daycare, which kind of sounds like maybe there's some option there, you'd probably be much happier not putting him in daycare. If you have to put him daycare, don't feel guilty, it's not the end of the world. No, there is no better person to be with a baby than his own parent every day, but sometimes there is no choice, and you have to do what needs to be done to survive. But if there is a choice, by all means, wait, or just don't do it at all. Being there for your baby is the best gift you could ever give him.

i think you should wait till you baby has his shots first then put him in. They might even tell you to make sure he has them anyway. You must be going back to work if you are puting him in daycare, which i think is way to early. You will be missing out on so much if you do, i waited till my son was 3 years old to put him in because i wasnt going to let some stranger watch my son walk and talk for the first time, thats my job.

I think I am wondering why you had a baby if you're just going to give him to someone else to raise. Don't you realize how much you are missing out on by putting him in daycare at so young an age?

If you have to put him in daycare, you should try and wait until the baby is at least 3 mths old. I have a 22mth old and I was lucky that I didn't have to put him in daycare until he was 19 mths old. Just be prepared for all sick days, there is no avoiding them once the child is in daycare.

I recommend waiting as long as possible before putting your child in daycare. You'll never get these first months back. It's perfect timing for bonding with your baby!

why put your baby in daycare at all he is to young for someone else to be looking after him.and if it is a have to-then first make sure he has his shots because kids in daycare carry colds-germs-chickenpox-and the worst i think head lice.i am blessed i get to stay home with my 4 i have a good husband even though the extra money would help us the extra love and attention helps them
god bless and good luck

what just get the shot when they are susposed to be done, I think 2 months, the day care wont take him unless he has his shots . the girl who said dont put him in daycare , has serious issues. I feel sorry for her kids because there is definately something wrong with her. LOL

Do not but that baby in daycare you need to protect that child and stay at home with him/her as long as you possibly can they grow too quick and sending your child in with no shots could have some serious consequences!

If you can help it never put your kid in daycare. You are the mom, and your who he needs the most. I am 13 and my mom put me in daycare when I was little and regretted it ever since. Its ALWAYS better if you raise the child yourself. I know I might be young, but I know what I'm talking about.I Hope I helped.- Emily

Most daycare follow the state guidelines and won't let a unvaccinated person into daycare. I would also talk to your pediatrician.
