My first was just like that. Moved all night long... never let me sleep. And now, he's just as active as in the womb. I called him the alien child! He kicked me really hard... felt like he caught me in my ribs. Sometimes I thought he was just plain stretching his arms and legs with the pressure I would feel from all angles.
Have you tried repositioning yourself when the pain comes on? Unfortunately, that only worked a few times with me. I would most often just forcibly move him from side to side with my hands on my sides. Don't know if that's what I actually accomplished, but the sharp pains would subside. My husband used to look at me crazy... he would say "what are you doing to him in there?"
If all else fails... know that it'll be over in a few short weeks. Good luck with the birth.

37 weeks, just wait until 40! Every child is different. My last child rested on my cervix for 2 months. Talk about hard to walk. She weighed almost 9 lbs at birth. I was sore all the time from her movements. Good thing it is almost over for you. Good Luck!

I know, isn't new life amazing? During the last month I was pregnant with my son,I thought he had a whole soccer team in my tummy. I don't remember that action from my 1st pregnancy either (a girl). It may be uncomfortable now, but I missed the kicking so much after he was born.

I am 37w6d and it always seems as soon as I "try" to go to sleep my little one wakes up! The needles in the bladder feeling is probably caused by your baby pushing down on a vaginal nerve. I had the same feeling...totally freaked out...went to the doctor...and felt like a total idiot when she told me he was pressing down on a vaginal nerve! Good luck sweetie you don't have very much longer to go...I have a scheduled c-section Aug 3. so as you can imagine I am counting down the days!!!

My daughter kicked so much I felt like my ribs were cracked at some points. But most of the time I loved feeling her move and kick inside my belly. She's 4 now and still kicks me =) LOL

I hurt WAY worse with my second one than with my first. It is normal, and you are being under attack from within. The baby is trying to move and get comfortable, and it is cramped and squished and listening to your stomach gurgle. I'd kick, too! Are your cramps still going, or are you able to relax now?

Absolutely normal, just be prepared for your hyperactive new baby, when I was pregnant of my second child, she danced every time i listened music. Now she is a professional dancer.
God luck!!

You just have a very active baby....................... my daughter was rather passive..... My son was doing gymnastics or something. there were times I could see a foot under my wife's right ribcage and a hand poking out of her lower left side..........at the same time.
He kicked her in the bladder so hard one time that she peed on herself.
