years and have a son whom is now 17 years old, my "wife" during the marriage had a child out of wed lock. We own no property jointly or seprately and I have heard that I can geta divorce without a lawyer. I have already sought legal aid, however they say that I make too much. Is there an easier method to the matter? I waited Please only reasonable and helpful replies are needed thank you.

So what's the rush now? If you wait one more year until your son is 18 then you are no longer responsible for "child support" so it won't cost you more than what you are already paying for child support and you can go ahead and get the divorce then.

Did you not know you are marring a woman with a child? If accepted why cant you both get along and live the rest of the life. Dont think someone else will bring peace to you both - not even a divorce!!!

wow why even bother getting married, just divorce her , look you are already separated, whats the problem? and you pay for a child that is not even yours, OK so you raised him, but make sure that your son, understands why you are divorcing, I know that life is not fair, but your son didn't ask to be born so you made that decision to raise him as your own, so continue paying child support and get a divorce good luck to you,,,

from what I understand on this is that you can file a divorce and show to court. If She fails to show or she just simply signs without contesting to anything , the divorce should go smoothly, but it may cost you...
I hope this is helpful and good luck, you sound like a good guy in a bad situation.

depends on the state you live. I would invest in a legal consultation with a paralegal.
