If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.
Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

Here are some REALLY good, and very inexpensive ways to treat most acne at home. Try each method (unless you’re allergic to the ingredients) until you find one that works best for you. Good luck =) BTW, I know some of these may sound bizarre but try them…what have you got to lose other than the acne!!
1. Put toothpaste on your acne before going to bed. (Make sure it is paste not gel). It should reduce the swelling of acne noticeably.
2. Dab egg whites on your acne and leave on for 20 minutes or overnight. It’s supposed to pull the infection out of the blemish.
3. Wash acne infected areas twice a day with warm salt water. This reduces oils in the skin and helps to dry the acne up without further agitation.
4. Use ice on acne before going to bed. This works best on pimples that have not yet formed a head. It reduces swelling and helps to prevent scarring.
5. Wash and dab acne with cotton balls that have been soaked in vinegar. Let dry; do not wash off immediately.
6. Place strawberries leaves over your acne and the alkalinity will help to reduce the swelling.

My face never got clear when I was in high school and younger. I spent 100's of dollars on the acne creams and the drugstore zit stuff but nothing worked until I started reading the ingredients. I figured out that sulfur was the main ingredient in most of the products so I went out and found a specialty soap store and bought up 10 bars of sulfur soap and walla! the zits dried up quickly after washing twice a day and I became very happy again. Hope this helps you out.

there are plenty of ways of getting rid of acne.. there's always medications but get over the counter stuff.. and if that doesn't work see a dermatologist and have them prescribe you something.. i used to have acne and my dermatologist prescribed me benzaclin gel for me it worked great. so see what happens.. just make sure your not allergic to the creams and stuff.

Try using either alcohol or dial soap since it is an antibacterial and acne is a bacteria , that's what my doc told me and it worked for me :)

proactiv is good. or else go the the dermatologist. if you are female, try ortho or another type of birth control. That helps a lot of people, including me.
