I Know NOTHING about computers, we are paying up the butt for comcast online, was told dsl is cheaper and faster but I have NO idea what this means or who to get it from! I am a novice AT BEST and it's been dropped in my lap! All I want is a cheap company that will give us what we have now(like YAHOO etc)! HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!

I would suspect that dsl is somewhat less expensive than comcast but in actuality is not faster but slower. Also to get the cheap dsl prices you often have to sign a 2 year contract. You need to fully investigate your options before you make a change.

The difference between cable and dsl is that cable is a open network which means the more users on the network the slower it goes.
DSL is a one on one network runs smoother over the course of time.
Check with your local telephone company ie. att.com
they are currently offering 12.99 and 3 months free when you switch

dsl is not necessarily faster, FIOS by verizon, is...
dsl is however cheaper depending on the package you choose, some offer "naked" dsl though it's tough to get ( nake dsl is just the dsl service, no phone service what so ever ) and they usally price it higher to offset not haveing phone service. by dsl line is 33.00 a month ( with taxes ), my phone can vary from 30 to 45 a month depending on use. by contrast time warner had cable modem internet access for about 45 a month plus of course cable ( another 50.00 a month ).

I will call and call until I get the right person who will hook me up with a deal and it usually works you have to keep at these things other wise your screwing your self also with credit cards don't just accept the interest rates call and call until you get the right person who will lower them

first you need to find out who your phone copany is then go to there website and see wat dsl offers they have. for example if it was verizon you would go to www.verizon.com go to dsl and look at the offers.
