i personally think it's so gross when people cake on make-up like foundation and stuff and you can see the line on there chin from there regular skin and cakey face
it's like if your gonna wear that much make-up which your shouldn't atleast rubb it in
oh and a tip
my friend had really bad acne and she'd cover it up with liqiud foundation every day then i told her to wear loose powder
and her acne iis clearing up and it feeels better
oh and before you go to bed you should wash your face so you don't sleep with all that crap on all night

I personally too despise that look.
Everybody needs to get a professional to pick out the right colour for their skin tone. Don't just go into any old store and pick out something thats packaged up and you cant test.
Department stores, have specifically trained professionals who are PAID to help you pick out the right colour. For free. Usually there is no obligation to buy, and they will give you skin care tips also.
On a bit of a budget? Go into the department store, and talk to the ladies. If you are unsure of spending a sum of money for something you think you might not like (but will be nicer than $2 makeup anyday), ask them for a sample of the foundation, or whatever other makeup.
Then if you do like it, you will have about a weeks worth of sample left to save up and buy the normal sized product.
Liquid foundation is not necessarily suffocating to the skin, there are very light versions available, that are gentle on the skin. When it comes to a 'decent' base be prepared to pay a little extra. Preferably one with a sunscreen in it would be good... but as I mentioned above, get somene to help you to pick the right colour for you.
Why some people have the 'tide mark' under their chins? Well, some people don't have adequate lighting when applying their makeup. This is very important.
