Diet drinks also contain sugar.. even though not as much as the normal drinks. So, even diet is bad for your teeth if you have it a lot.

The reason regular sodas are problematic for your teeth,is the same as Candy. It's the sugar. So far there is no proof sugar substitutes are harmful in any way. So drink away. The American Diabetes Association recommends diet sodas. The veterans administration advises its patients with diabetes to drink diet sodas when glucose (sugar) levels are high.

Soda of all kinds eats the enamel off your teeth. It's the acid, not the sugar that is more harmful to your teeth. I think if you practice moderation, though, you'll be OK.
As far as artificial sweetener tricking your body, I've never heard that. I do know that they make you gain weight.
Much Love!!

no matter whether soda is diet or not - it's SO acidic that it's wearing down your enamel. all soda does this. try the bologna experiment... it will all eat holes through bologna if left for a while. drink it through a straw if you MUST have it - then rinse your mouth with water after. also- use a flouride gel after brushing to help reduce the sensitivity.

Uh yeah. Diet drinks have the same stuff as non-diet drinks do except diet drinks have no calories; that is if you are talking about pop.

It is primarily the acid that dissolves the enamel. Sugar doesn't help much. The "diet" drinks are worse for the metabolism and system than the regular sodas.
