Most of my friends and I included are around the age of 20... Some of us are Virgins. My questions is that How much would you respect some one who decides to be a virgin till marriage? I am not asking about liking, marrying, or stuff like that. I am just asking about respect. Just don't give me a number. Please give me your personal opinions aswell.

You have my respect. So many young women and girls don't have a clue about virginity and the role it plays in self-respect, health, romance, the special gift of love it is to save it for marriage, not to mention avoiding unwanted pregnancy. It's the gift you can give to yourself and your new husband only once.
Good for you and your friends who have the foresight and understanding to wait.

An example above of the reduction of this most intimate exchange to just a matter of a membrane just shows the decay of sensitivity and lack of humanity that is a result of current popular attitudes about sex.

After living a great deal of life - It's not what others think about you - it's what YOU think about you. I've NEVER heard a man 'lose respect' for someone who "respects herself". There's a tendency to look up to that person. Virginity used to be more normal than not when I was young - and it wasn't unusual for the guy to wait too!! - how about THAT one......not like that anymore - and it's sad - because it is very special when 2 people who start out as friends end up getting married down the road - and both waited. There is a special bond there - that you can only have that way one time. Today, I think virgins are sought after for a wife. Guys don't tell you because they want action - but deep down - it's still important.

I think men respect more the fewer partners we have had. It lets them know that we aren't easy and just giving it up to everyone that wants it. Being a women, I have great respect for any woman who chooses not to give that gift to just anyone. Unfortunately, there are so many that do, the ones who don't are viewed as different. It would be great to see more women respect themselves enough to wait for someone special.

they got all my respect. chicks like you are saving that part of life when the right person comes along, & not one you're just dating. when i say the right person, i mean the one you exchange vows with & join in holy matrimony til death do you two part. i can admire that you want it to be meaningful & that's why you havent done it yet. you dont wanna throw it away on some random sexed-up guy whom you cant see a future with. so yeah, good stuff

a female perspective........i would very much respect my man if he was a virgin, even if he was older than 20. too many young people today lose thiers too early. i wish i had waited.

why should a piece of membrane on your body command extra respect and attention! If it is the attitude that is in question, virginity as symbol of purity is as unfashionable as celibacy.
