It's a hard question, for me at least.
I grew up listening to alot of the old rock bands. Then moved onto the 90s bands such as KoRn, Slipknot, System of a Down, Offspring, ect.
But I love rap as well...
What do you prefer if you had to choose?

I love them both
i started to listen to rap first but now I'm all heavy metal but i still listen to rap
i mostly like all types of music just not country
i don't end up hating a lot of music but right now I'm really starting to hate pop

Riding my motorcycle with no earplugs. It runs really smooth, so there's no rap, and the frame is aluminum, so there's no heavy metal. Just a smooth, melodious sound.
Of course, if I want to listen to music, that's a different story.
Oddly enough, my opinion of rap is almost the opposite of River; I always thought the advantage of Rap is you could usually understand the words. You might wish you couldn't , sometimes. But a lot of 'heavy metal' sounds more like incoherent screaming to me. Maybe I need to get a big Harley with really loud pipes; then I might learn to appreciate heavy metal.....

Heavy Metal. Rap is okay, but only in small doses and if it actually has some harmony in it.
Heavy metal sounds good anytime, and it, indeed all rock music, is very versatile when it comes to instruments and rhythm.

Old Rock is pretty good, and I know I'll upset a lot of people by saying this, but I think rap is one style of music that should just go away and never return. You can't understand one thing there saying. At least in rock you can despiher some of the words. I would have to say neather, but in this case, I'll have to say rock is better.

RAP!!!!! Unless I'm in a really bad mood and want to blow off some steam then rock only cause rock helps you do that for some reason, like linkin park for instance...
