You can install the same software to the same computer as many times as you like. It's just restrictions on how many computers at the same time. Same PC same serial as long as it's genuine. Good luck.

I had this same problem. You can use the disk until you see a message telling you that you have used the disk too much. I was up to almost double digets before I saw that message. It will come with instructions to call microsoft. All you have to do is call and explain that you have had to reformat your hard drive several times and they will give you a new license code. Just plug it in and follow the prompts.

You can activate it as many times as you want on the came pc. The activation code is linked on a database at microsoft that also keeps track of your pc's component serial numbers so they can tell you are just reinstalling it on the same pc. If your activation code does not work, they will give you a number to call. Just let them know you had to reformat and they will give you a code to activate it again.

You can reinstall it as many times as you want. I've reinstalled it at least 3 times. It knows what PC it's on. If there's ever a problem (and you really have the original CD), it's easy to call MS to generate you another number. They just need the number from the disc.

if you have a copy of xp and it is valid you can reformat and use it as many times as u like..i formatted and upgraded with 2 hard drives and it works everytime..... enjoy!!!!!!

as far as I understand, if you use it to reformat the oringal, registered with that disk, CPU / hardrive - you can use as many times as you want. Until you wear it out or break it. helpful?

If you try to activate and it gives you a problem you just call and they will give you the code to activate.
