i peirced my lip myself monday[2 days ago] it swelled and is almost back down but its gettin sore now...is that normal? nd its getting dry around the whole?

you should have left that to a professional, but you have already done it, so i would say treat it like any other piercing...clean with anti-bacterial soap, and soak in sea salt...and i must add that lip rings are HOTT, so dont let it get infected. good luck

Did you do this yourself with a regular sewing needle? or a hollow needle like the piercers use? It would have been better to get it done professionally so that everything was sterilized properly and to get cleaning supplys and information to protect it from getting infected. There are usually forums online where you can look up this information. Sea salt soaks(with non iodized salt) with warm water may help the healing process and makes it feel better afterwards. You should do it once a day for 10-15 minutes. sorry I dont know that much about oral piercings =( hope it gets better, just get your next piercing done professionally!

What is wrong with the younger generation. You are piercing your self, panting your body with tattoos, shaving the hair away from the head, starving to have a slim body, but the result is that you look like a plank or eating steroids to have an disproportional body wobbling in the streets not able to walk. Is this the result of lack of self confidence?

u gotta clean it with saltwater.
u could get it at Wholefoods or u can just make it urself.
grap a pinch of salt and a less than half of water in a cup.
mix it
and then with a q-tip just clean it.
its gona get scabby so this will help it.
OH and make sure u rise ur mouth everytime u eat with Listerine. or a mouthwash.
btw..u shoulda had it done professionaly!

it will be sore for a while. and it can get dry.
hopefully you cleaned what ever you peirced yourself with, really really good.
and hopefully your lip ring isnt "home made"
