usually thermometers take temperature by the direct heat from the sun it does not measure wind chill or anything like that so that is why it is able to get a direct reading while moving.

A auto thermometer will give you false readings wile the car is moving! Thus, you need to mount the sensor in an area where wind, ice and other direct contributors to false readings won't affect the temperature readings. The directions for installation are in the package. And, will explain this. Also will give you points and positions to mount the sensor. I have had one on my semi truck for years and it is very accurate.

"Wind chill" has no effect on the actual air temperature. It is only an indication of how fast heat is removed from an object - since the thermometer doesn't generate heat it measures the actual air temperature regardless of how fast the air passes by it.

its a laser it only detects temp not wind chill ot anything else what i have seen befor was that my dad truck was idling for well over 30 mins and the temp gauge was reading over 100 so it was reading the heat from the engine but that is the only time that has happened and yes they are very accurate

Yes, LeAnne is right.

Wind does not affect the real temperature, only the perceived temp. so the wind from moving really changes nothing.
