Receptions are +1 point, and we can start 4 RB, so I would hate to keep only 1 RB, then have the 8th pick after keepers, and get stuck with a crappy 2nd RB. Gates and Manning are studs at their positions though.

Domanick Davis

he is the least valuable!

You want the most value so if you have too you can trade!

plus, there will always be rb's after peeople get hurt in camp!

These guys dont understand you are asking a keeper question.

Hold the most value that is the key!

If you are starting 4 RB's, which sounds ridiculous, you must keep Cadillac and D Davis. If you didn't start 4 RB's, I would suggest Manning, Caddy, and Gates, but like you said, you can't afford to have only Caddy as a starting RB when you start 4 of them.

I say go with Manning, Caddy and Davis and you can pick up TE's like Heath Miller, Randy McMichael, Vernon Davis, and LJ Smith well after the top 4 (Gates, Shockey, Crumpler, Heap) TE's are taken.

An earlier respondent talked about getting value, then contradicted himself. Yes, Gates is the best TE in the league, but I would much rather have Davis as my RB and McMichael as my TE (taken in 7th, 8th rounds) then hoping on someone like Corey Dillon as my 2 with Gates as my TE. If you are looking at value, D Davis + McMichael's pts should be higher then Dillon & Gates.

There is a reason the Texans didn't draft Bush. Because they know that Davis has the capacity to be a stud. If you look at the % of offensive plays that he was involved in it's higher than the average RB. In a league format like this where you start 4 RB's you have the best QB and two young solid backs. If you want Gates he will be there when your pick rolls around but don't take him any higher than the 4th round. Again only in this format does it make sense to spend a 4th round pick on him. Brees is gone which means Rivers if he does struggle will rely on the short game to build confidence. Gates will be the #1 TE in the league despite production from the QB position. I would try to pick him up again but not before you pick 2 RB's and at least one stud WR. If you don't pick up the RB's and a solid WR you'll kick yourself later.
Even with points per receptions there are plenty of TE's who will be catching 60-70 balls this year LJ Smith, C. Cooley, and Heap should all see increases in production based on coaching (Al Saunders is now the OC in Washington) and QB play with McNair in Baltimore and a healthy McNabb in Philly. None of those TE's will cost you a 4th rnd pick. You can pick up your TE production elsewhere and reward yourself with a back that catches the ball out of the backfield to help balance our your roster think Lamont Jordan, Chester Taylor, or Brian Westbrook or god forbid I forget to mention Reggie Bush. (don't take him in the first but if he's there in the 2nd in a keeper league format with two solid backs in your pocket he's too tempting to pass up.)
Good luck.

some people will disagree with me, but it's a no brainer. Gates is out. I know he's the #1 TE by a mile. I'm guessing just about every top RB is already protected, so you need to keep both Davis and Cadillac - obviously you can't drop Manning - so there you have it.

Davis is far from overrated. He is an injury risk though. I would keep Peyton, Gates, D.Davis. Gates is gong to kill any other TE's stats again, and he puts up the same #'s as a number one or two WR. So you will have two studs at two positions and if D.Davis can go back to his '04 numbers, you will be starting off great.

I was gonna say you'd probably have to drop Davis,.... 'till I saw that you're playing in a PPR league. Despite being an injury risk, you've gotta keep him in that format.

I'd say drop Gates....He's obviously a still a stud, but I do expect a bit of a drop off with him this year because of the loss of Brees. The SD offense will definitely struggle at times with Rivers.....

Dominick Davis is over rated, Payton always has good stats, Cadillac was rookie of the year and he is just getting better, and Antonio is the only real threat in the chargers arial game.
