his name is rex. calling him will probably help. but dont get too close; as he has been known to maul strangers with little or no provocation. please help. rex is very dear to my friends brother.

NO. Grizzly Bears are wild animals and may not be kept in captivity... not basically that its cruel to have them as a domestic dog yet they could replace into risky and in all probability kill you.. desire I helped =)

tell him to buy an ape. apes are much easier to spot in the northern wilderness than specific bears.
