I understand majority of people in the US are unhappy with Bush... But I think they have no confidence in Demo either.
The Truth is Bush is made out to be worse b/c of Demo's false attack. I hope Rep. ralley around and win the election once again.

We will win back at least the House of Representatives. That will make all the difference in the world. The Executive will be forced to compromise on everything and it would be the beginning a new day.
The people are not fooled now. They are ready to get the corruption out of Congress. And start the long process of starting over the new Century for America without the Bush Wars. This will be the beginning of the end for the neocons. Bye Bye

Because we're too timid. There are Dems in the past who've criticized Bush, and then the GOP accuses them of being anti-American, pro-terrorist, ad nauseum....and then they stop or apologize.
The other tactic is that the GOP knows it can rope in a high percentage of voters by going for the "jugular", i.e. social issues that have nothing to do with economics, war, jobs, or foreign policy, but galvanize voters on broad, sweeping, practically rhetorical issues like flag burning, gay marriage, and homeland security. Democrats know sensibly, that's nothing to run a campaign on but then they get branded as immoral or worse of all, a LIBERAL. The Republicans are self-serving, diabolical, and corrupt, but their lack of morals allows them to do bold, crude things that a respectable Democrat would never do. Unfortunately, Joe and Jane Six-Pack don't know any better, enjoy voting against their own economic and social interests because every few years they'll get a $300 tax rebate check to blow at WalMart, and think this is how America must run.
In short, we'll break even in the Congressional races unless we unify and STAND TALL for what we believe in. That means taking the GOP to task for a horrible war, a shifty economy, and bad foreign relations.

I, as well as my friends that are Independants, see the Democrats as complainers. Now some of my friends believe that there are things that we should be complaining about. However, they know that that can only go so far. They don't like the idea from the Dems to pull out of Iraq quickly. They believe that an action like that would come back to haunt us. Also, the Dems are known to raise taxes. Me and my friends are not the type of people who would benefit from many types of social programs. However, the FairTax has become of a great intrest to us. And although I cannot speak for my friends, I know who ever pushes for the Fair Tax would win my vote.

Republicans, oddly enough, are now proponents of a powerful central state, which is often a popular idea in times of perceived crisis.
The Democrats' best chances rest with a few things:
1. They need to paint their opponents as having close ties to Bush. Many local Republicans will try do distance themselves from him as long as his ratings are low.
2. Male candidates must not seem too intellectual or effete, female candidates must not seem too left-feminist.
The door is open for Dems in 2006, this will be a test of their strategy.

I pray they will lose ALL seats but, alas, when you have three major network news services and 90% of all print media openly campainging for the Dems even truth doesn't stand a prayer. Look for another Clinton in the Whitehouse.

Lots and lots. But even more in 2012 after census redistricting.
The core problem is that the country is gaining population in the so-called 'red states' and losing population in the so-called 'blue states'.
The Democrat party is still trying to sell that stupid hippy feel good liberalism that they picked up in 1972. It just doesn't play in 'red state' America.
Until they really change, they will continue to lose with more and more people.
