If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it does it make a sound? Well it still makes sound vibrations… the ear is only the interpreter for the sound, but… if the light is not on are the colors still there? No. Colors are also perceived by an interpreter (the eye of course) but because color is only created by the absorption of certain parts of the spectrum, then if there is no light there is no color. Trees still technically make sound (waves) but the dark is truly a void of color. All colors of light combined make white light, but all colors of paint make black (or at least a really dark brown). Giraffes do make a sound, it’s just beyond our range of hearing. Birds have 4 color cones in there eyes as opposed to humans who have 3. But then again some animals have only 2 but can see in the dark. If you go far enough east it eventually becomes west. Toilet water spins the opposite direction in the opposite hemisphere. Today we are drinking the same water a dinosaur might have been drinking millions of years ago. And some day (a long ways off) the sun who gives all of us life will eventually become a red giant and swallow the earth whole. All of it. And the moon too… so if all of it eventually ends up in the center of the sun, what does anything really matter… that broken lamp in the corner will eventually turn to dust in some land fill, but even the land fill will burn up eventually in the center of the sun. Poof. Think about that for a while and see if it makes you feel fearless because no matter what mistake you make now, the sun will someday wipe it clean, or does it make you want to give up because it’s all really pointless if it’s just going to get toasted in the end? Know thyself… that’s the greatest question.

The most thought evoking question has to be the origin of everything. Life, the universe etc..

As for the tree falling in the woods, I still don't understand how anyone can say that it WILL make sound waves when no one is around to hear it. The whole point of the paradox is that just because a falling tree has always made a sound whenever we have been around to hear it, and just because this is what our common sense leads us to belive, does it really mean that a falling tree WILL make a sound absolutely every time even if no one is around to verify the fact.
