Waxing is the way to go! Most of the time electrolysis doesn't work, shaving your eyebrows should NOT be an option (haha), etc. Please let me make it clear to you....waxing does NOT make your hair grow back thicker or darker. When you SHAVE.... you cut hair off at an angle making it feel more stubbly, therefor it feels thicker. It also is cut so blunt from a razor that it looks darker. You can research it online to find that to be the truth. Waxing removes the hair from the root...so of course, it hurts. It isn't that bad maybe a 4 on your scale. Depending on your threshold of pain, that is. It hurts for two seconds but ask your esthitician to apply a numbing agent and then afterwards a soothing gel. She will probably do this anyways, but their are techniques we can do to ease the pain a little. Take an asprin or two before you go! One great thing about it: You won't have to get it done more than once MAYBE twice a month (or you could tweeze the newgrowth in between visits: hair has to be a certain length for the wax to grab it!). Once you try it, you won't go back. You MIGHT tear up, but it gets easier each time you go! And I wouldn't do my lip if I didn't have to. The most painful areas (bikini and brazilian being the worst), the lip and arm pits are said to be the most painful places to get waxed. Like you, I do not have to do my upperlip and only eyebrows. Good luck! Everything will turn out just fine!

If your upper lip doesn't need it, DON"T DO IT! The hairs will come back , will feel stubbly, and you'll be spending money all the time to have it done! As for the eyebrows, here is a good idea. Ever had a bandaid on fro a while on your arm where there is hair and ripped it off really fast? That's going to be similar to it. I get my eyebrows waxed like every 2 weeks and pluck in between. If you are really tolerant of pain, it won't hurt all that bad. They also have cooling products to stop the burning sensation there. I wouldn't worry too much. It's not that bad. Sometimes your eyesbrows will be a little red and swolen afterward, but this is normal for most people. Usually it covers up with makeup and doesn't stay that way for long. Ususally a couple of hours. The results of waxing are wonderful though! You can have a very well defined arch and it will look great. You don't have to worry about plucking for usually a week or so, depending on how fast you hair grows. Trust your mom. I'm sure you'll like it. Good luck and Happy Waxing, lol!

Well, it will hurt, but it's not any big deal. I mean, women have done this for centuries all around the world, so you're obviously not in any lethal danger.

Everyone's pain threshold is different, so it's no use to give you a number on a scale- it'll be my scale, not yours.

If the pain is really bad, as soon as they lift the wax, make sure to press down firmly but gently on the area, that usually relieves some of the pain. Don't use lotion on the skin on your upper lip after the waxing- you'll just irritate it.

A definite six! You won't die but it'll hurt like F*UCK. Some people get irritated like my mom. Be careful. She did her upper lip for the first time and she had to walk around with it swollen and red for like six hours before looking normal again. It happens to me when I wax my eyebrows. I mean it s worth the pain but just being honest. It looks great after the red is gone. Good luck !!!

i got my eyebrows done before, and the least painful part for me was under my brows (so like a 3 on the scale) middle-5, and the tops hurt the most (8)

I'd say the eyebrows are about a four on the pain scale and the lip is about a seven.

brazillian wax isn't an entire physique wax. i assume i will comprehend why they verify with it like that however. the unique which ability is a vaginal wax. A brazillian wax is the finished decrease section and not inclusive of the legs. Mabe some spas refer leg+decrease region+different physique hair as a equipment "the brazillian wax." even with the undeniable fact that the real wax is ment to verify with the only one decrease region. The brazillian wax takes to the air all the hair and thats the place they could circulate flawed as properly...

The eyebrows aren't bad at all--a two on the scale.

Never had the lip done, but heard it is a little more painful.

Good luck, and don't worry.
