Would you report it? Walk away? Get involved?
What would it depend on?

Depends on the crime. Lots of crime to me is bogus. Two guys get in a fight let them fight it out till one wins. Then break it up before somebody winds up in the hospital. Smoking weed who cares? If I saw somebody cheating on thier taxes or robbing a bank I wouldn't interfere. Why rat somebody off or involve cops? Half the fights I've seen where cops show up not only do they arrest both parties unnecesarrily they usually haul of the girlfriends and relitives too. The cops show up pushing already excited people around. That to me is really stupid. That's not controling the situation that's making it worse. Then the in your face attitude with people already agitated is just begging for trouble and that's apparently what they want. Not to break up the fight, but to pad thier arrest totals. I've actually ripped a phone out of the wall to prevent cops from being called over a simple fist fight. Ten mins later the fight was over, folks went back to drinking and at the end of the night the two participents were best buds. If the cops had shown up there'd been lots of people in jail, the two guys prob would have blamed the other for being in jail and had at it again somewhere else with possibly lethal results. Cops are very poorly trained in the US. This control with agression is BS in most cases. It's weak and it's dangerous and it gets people killed uncessarily. Been a time or two cops have come up on me while I was doing nothing and it was all I could do not to take a swing at them just because of the aggression shown. They were trying to pick a fight with me or a friend.

If I saw somebody mugging somebody, attempting a rape, ganging up on a person, a dude hitting a woman, things of that nature I'd put a stop to it myself. By the time the cops bother showing up it'll be done. When they do show up to pick up the pieces they'll arrest somebody totally uninvolved. I can make a difference by jumping in that second. Maybe save a life. Though last time I jumped in when a dude was hitting a woman the damn B jumped on my back while I was fighting her old man. Not fun. At least I got him to stop hitting her :)

If I saw somebody messing with a neihbors car or anybody I know or care about's property I'd stop them. If I didn't know them it'd depend more on who I'd picture owned the car and who was doing the damage/theft. For example if somebody was messing with a pimpmobile or gangster car I'd keep walking. Not my biz. If it was a little ole granny type car I'd stop and run them off and or call the cops. The deciding factor is whether they are able to defend themselves, chivalry, and whether the victem was out doing the same thing to other people.

Another factor is will innocents get hurt. Children for example, when is life bad enough fo them to get CPS involved. Not something to do lightly as CPS could mess up a wet dream. Has to be a real danger ot the kids and a likely danger before I'll call. I feel parental rights and the bonds between parent and child is sacred. Even a bad parent deserves the chance to fix things up. Long as the kid isn't being abused. Spanking a kid is NOT abuse. Hitting a kid anywhere but the rear is. No reason to believe abuse is happening or danger ot the kid is eminient I try to help the parents. If the kid is starved, abused or otherwise in danger I'll call CPS. Never had to resort to that but came close once when a kid adopted me and my ole lady as her new parents and stayed with us a week before Mamma finally collected her and disapeered. We offered to let the kid stay with us long term but she declined. The mother liked her beer a bit too much to know she needed to change for her kids :(

Make sense?

Well, if it happened to me, yes. I would get involved. If it happened to someone close beside me and the suspect was a small person, like not big and muscular, then yes, I would get involved, too. I think it would be too hard to walk away. I would feel all guilty and stuff. If I had a cell phone I would call CSI or 911 or a cop. If I had some mace I would use that on the suspect. If the suspect was fast and got away, then I would check on the victim and help them up or whatever and wait for the media to show up. Hey, what if it was an eppy of COPS? Then I SO wold help out. That would rock!

I think I would have to make an assessment of whether or not I could take them. If not, I would use pepper spray if possible, to subdue the attacker. Or, if I think I could take them, I would pull out my serrated edged Beretta and fight. But, if I have my 1 year old with me, I would call 911 and run for cover. Here's a good example: I attended graduate school in Philadelphia. The school I attended was in a high crime neighborhood. After an evening class, I was walking to the parking lot with my professor. These four guys in large "puff coats", came up to us to ask what time it was. Well, one of the guys had his hands in his pocket, another had his hand inside his jacket near his chest, and yet another appeared shifty looking around. Well, my goofy, middle aged, white male professor, who thinks the world could do no wrong, starts to raise his hand and give the time right? So, I slap his hand back down to his astonishment and say in my deepest voice possible, "nah dawg, we dont have the time." Then I marched us out of there as quickly as possible without looking scared.

What is wrong with everybody? Since when did we start looking the other way? Right is right and wrong is wrong. Undecidedly Yes I would report it,; Do you want to know why? When you have been a victum, you look at th eother guy differantly.

DEPENDS ON THE CRIME, DRUG DEALERS CAN DO WHAT THEY PLEASE ( AS LONG AS THERE NOT STINGEY ), IF I SEE MEN WITH MACHINE GUNS I'M TURNING AROUND AND GOING THE OTHER WAY, IF IT'S PUNKS MUGGING AN OLD LADY OR TRYING TO RAPE SOME GIRL I'M GOING TO FIND A PIECE OF PIPE OR A BOARD AND I'M GONNA START BUSTING HEADS. FOR THE MOST PART CALLING THE COPS NEVER HELPS ANYONE THEY'LL JUST ARREST YOU FOR BOTHERING THEM.

if anothers life or safety was involved, throw myself into it and do whatever it took to bring balance to the situation.

if my family was involved or at risk! there would be body parts flying!

If it was just about stuff, money, property theft whatever ..... man they can have it, i would keep on driving.

but honestly honorbright24 - i have not yet been tested !
