8:10pm
Here's how to go from 24-hour time (used by the military and other groups) to 12-hour (more widely used):
1. The time range 0:00 - 0:59 is the same as 12:00am - 12:59am
2. If the time is in the range 1:00 - 11:59, just tack on "am" to the end of it (so the range here would be 1:00am - 11:59am).
3. If the time is in the range 12:00 - 12:59, just tack on "pm" to the end of it (so the range here would be 12:00pm - 12:59pm).
4. If the time is in the range 13:00 - 23:59, subtract 12 from the number before the ":", leave the number after the ":" as it is, and tack on "pm" to the end of it (so the range here would be 1:00pm - 11:59pm).
Note that there is no 24:00, as this is the same as 0:00.

8:10, If you subtract 12 :00 from 20:10 that will give you your answer. That is military time.

military time is easy, 0100 is 1:00am... so on... the AM times all look like 'real' time, after 12:00pm... everything is an extra "1200"
20:10 - (12:00) = 08:10
since 2010 is higher than 1200, you know it's 8:10pm rather than 8:10am
just incase you feel like asking... 12am is 00:00... not 24:00 :)
