NOT!! it's no different than other MP3 players just good marketing and they were one of the first to mass produce Portable MP3 player. However you can do the same thing with a mobile phone and it's more compact all in one device with similar memory to a Nano ipod for a lot cheaper.
Issues with ipods:
No battery replacement once it is gone it's gone. They use their own file format which is not compatible with other software or devices they are over priced, and they don't organize songs in the ipod very well. (the menu and options)

Why would't I think it's cool? It holds an assload of music on it and is convenient, unlike my old discman! Be thankful to have an Ipod, because I envy you.

Eh, if I were paying for it, I'd probably go for something durable with a removable battery. But other than that, I'd say it's alright.

I got mine as a present, and it's great, but I probably would've gone with creative zen if I was paying for it.

well its way better than a windows player. go for the ds then get they'er media player its way better. then u can get there browser and surf the net

I dont have one but I think its crap. I've never wanted one. I don't have a reason I just have never been into them.
