You know how almost ALL movies these days have a happy ending? Well which ones actually have a bad ending? Or where the villian wins?

Pay it Forward: great movie, SAD ending

Hmm I don't want to give away details of what happens to make these movies end on a sad note, but i'll list a few that are that way and are also VERY good/well-acted movies:

The Professional (with a young natalie portman)

Love or Dare (new French movie with english subtitles- you HAVE to watch this one it's funny/sweet/completely heartbreaking...ugh, see it!)

Get Real (a popular jock and a shy guy fall for eachother in a very homophobic town)

Rent (Musical, has more of a sad entire story with a "happy" ending, but when you think about the circumstances you realize it won't be happy for long)

Belle Du Jour (very confusing end, but also pretty good movie. Once agian, french with english subs. Housewife secretly works as hooker and it sets off a chain of bad events)

Million Dollar Baby (VERY good. You probably have heard of this one.)

Perfect storm (George Clooney and a giant wave lol. This one was good)

I know there's more but I can't think of any!

Untamed Heart, Million Dollar Baby, The Professional...all sad

Million Dollar Baby made me SOB - it took me 4 tries before I could even finish watching the movie. Why, why, why would they make a movie like that? It's just.....very sad. An excellent movie, but sad. I know a couple of GUYS that had to cry during that movie.

I would also like to throw in Roman Holiday. Audrey Hepburn is one of my absolute favorites, but I don't understand this movie - it's so unlike all of her other 'happy-ending' movies. I was stunned when it ended. Great movie, one of the classics, but it sure didn't end the way I thought it did (or wanted it to).
