It'll run through most business registers like a regular check.

when you purchase travelers checks you pay a premium for obtaining them. However, a travelers check is just like having cash except that you must sign the check in the presence of the person you are giving it to (with identification). The check is always worth the denomination that is printed on it. If you have trouble cashing them in a store, or otherwise, go to a local bank and they will cash them for you. I would not keep the checks in the house waiting for another trip. They represent money that you may need now so do not sit on them. You may put them away somewhere and forget where they were put, or you may forget about them completely. Cash them. I always do after a trip.

Why not save it for the next trip. You don't need to spend it right away.

Sure, you can use them almost anywhere. You'll just have to add that second signature in the presence of the cashier - don't sign ANY beforehand or anyone can use them.
