Well, I think that maybe that was a compliment. If you think about it, maybe you were not being recognized for something you accomplished or maybe they overheard someone talking about you in a negative manner. When that person heard that maybe they did not agree and thought that the people talking negativly towards you didnt understand you making you misunderstood. The only thing I have to say is that the English language and our grammer usage is one of the most complicated and that comments often have different meanings depending on the context they were spoken. I would try to clarify what that person meant exactly when they said that and you might find their intentions were to compliment you instead of upset you.

Its not really about being misunderstood, I think she was just being nice. I think people say exactly what is on their minds and if people dont like it then in order to sound nice they tell you that you are being misunderstood. Just think before you speak. I wouldnt stay awake all night worrying about it , tomorrow is another day.

Yes there is no way on earth that someone could fell understood their inter lives. if its with friends people you work with or even your family at some point in time they wont understand you and you'll feel like it even when they do. and yes it sometimes does keep me up all night. but realize that everyone feels misunderstood and you aren't the only one

You think it is profound that you are misunderstood? Do you have the opportunity to explain yourself, or make "them" understand you?
What is really bad is if you cannot communicate to those who misunderstand you.
Somebody told me yesterday that I did something wrong, but would not specify what it was, OR communicate with me when I tried to find out what they were talking about! But I do not think that is profound! I think it is rude. So I would advise you to just go on about your life and forget it. As the saying goes, they are not worth your lost sleep.

i used to wear that on my sleeve--it's not something i should fix, it's just that i'm misunderstood. i tried 2 get people 2 understand me better and that made me talk too much....now i let the cards fall where they do. if it's not important, i don't try to explain myself. and if i am doing something extra-complicated cause it's just my quirky ways, i will try to decide if that's truly the best way or if i'm just complicating it because i'm quirky and misunderstood. at this stage in my life (i'm 31) i am going after simplicity rather than misunderstood-ness :)

Ever thought that the people that don't understand you are just shallow and don't care enough to get to know who you really are? Maybe its high time you got to know some people that would take the time to understand you. Every person in this world has someone that will understand them.
Pray you find them

I know that I say things a lot of times that come out the wrong way. Ppl that know me have just come to accept it others probably think I'm crazy. I figure we all trip over our words sometimes, it's just something we have to keep working at.

There's a song I was listening to
Up all night
There's a voice I'm hearing
Saying it's alright
When I'm happy I am sad
But everything's good
It's not that complicated
I'm just misunderstood

We are all misunderstood from time to time but not all the time. We also misunderstand others quite a bit too. So no one gets it right all the time.

Well, what's worse? Being misunderstood or easily understood?
I'm frequently misunderstood, and I don't mind. I would rather people get to know me before they know what I'm all about. I don't want my physical presense to reveal everything.
And no, I don't lose sleep about being misunderstood.
