If its magnetic.. ( most jewlery isnt ..) try a magnet on a loooong pole..

If its not.. then you should go get some scuba gear and go down.. I dont recommend going by yourself if you are not experienced, but it would be a fun thing to do.

19 feet is not that deep... if you can hold your breath for a little bit.. and dont mind your ears hurting a bit.. then you can just go down by yourself

1. How are you going to find the spot where you lost it?
2. Did you make specific compass bearings?
A lot depends on the visibility in the lake, the size of the lake, the currents in the lake and the composition of the sediment at the bottom. If it is stone then you have a better chance. If it is soft silt it will be covered.
If it is gold then you can rent a special metal detector that identifies precious metals. If none of those applies, then get a group of friends rent diving equipment and do group dives. Spread out with arms wide and dive as a group. pray that you find it during those sweeps otherwise you will have to claim on your insurance, if you have one. Barring all of the above, you just have to admit that you lost it.

first of all is the current in the lake strong and how long ago did you drop it? If the current is strong you have very few chances of recovering it so might as well tell the truth.

And 19 feet... man that is a lot. the diving ends of most swimming pools are only 15 feet, and the water pressure builds up so much your ears hurts a lot around 10 feet. if you intend to look for it you'll need an oxygen tank, mask, basically like scuba diving. or you can ask a friend who scuba dive to find it for you.

i'm not very hopeful though. just tell your parents and hope they forgive you.

I think you're pretty much screwed. You have two options...tell the truth or pretend you never had it to begin with and you have no idea where it was. The first option guarantees that you'll get in trouble. Will the "sentencing" be lighter since you told the truth? Probably not. Parents always like to drill that into our heads. However, if you lie, you always have the chance that they'll never find out you lied. But if you do get caught, you'll be in just as much trouble for losing the necklace and then lying about it. Then you'll get the whole speech on telling the truth. Good luck!

Give a local dive shop a call. Diver's are always looking for an excuse to get wet, but it may cost you, at the very least for their air fill and fuel for their vehicle. Personally, I'd be charging a minmum of 100 bucks for the service if it happened near me, but you might luck out. The longer you leave it, the harder it will be to find. Silt is always moving on the bottom and if there's bass , they like shiny things.

it is freaky because of fact which you won't manage to work out what's down there and your mind's eye facilitates each style of opportunities. study the lake on your section and discover out precisely what style of fish are swimming in this lake. probability is they are all very innocuous fish and there is particularly no longer something to stress approximately. Sharks do no longer stay in lakes (they only stay in oceans). as quickly as you understand for specific that there is not any longer something risky in there like crocodiles or human-eating snakes, you may swim with self belief.
