Just hearing various people around the message boards, it seems like both sides hate each other with a passion, even the ones in America.

It's nuts. Life is short, find a Playstation, find a job, find a girl, what's up with the hate? So what you don't like your neighbor, sometimes they suck, lock your doors, wave hi when you have to and duck away. Damn.

In the olden days, Muslims and Jews got along like peanut butter and jelly, but now they are like, as the question states, cats and dogs. Jews and Muslims co-existed in the middle east as well as europe. When the Jews were driven from their homes in Europe in more recent times, the only country to host them was Turkey (for those of you who dont know, a Muslim country). However, due to the whole zionist movement, Muslims and Jews in that area are at each others throats. Its really hard to get along when the people who took your land did so by blowing up your homes, kicking you out of your homes, or shooting you and throwing you into the street. Of course, the Muslims responded with similar terrorist tactics, such as suicide bombing, but we all know that. Now to answer the question. They fight because Jews represent invaders to the Muslims. They have taken the land of the Muslim Arabs and they have more or less done everything they could to make sure that no one would mess with them. Basically, they went above and beyond the needed force every time they faced a threat, crippling their Muslim neighbors. Even now, in Lebanon, Israel is totally crushing the Lebanese infrastructure. Uncalled-for violence by the Jews and the idea of revenge by the Muslims, mostly fueled by religious fanatics and ignorance of the other culture on both sides is whats keeping this conflict alive

In my country Muslims lived alongside Jews for centuries. It's the occupation of Palestine after WWII that caused a rift it. Some will lie to you and say it's been like this for thousands of years but it's not true. As many Muslim countries have Jewish population. Also when Muslims ruled spain, they shared a special bond with the Jews as they held primary positions and were a value to society. This is not a religious problem either, as many christians claim. Jews are honoured as God's chosen people and praised them when they were pleasing Him. Criticized them when some strayed.

I have Jewish friends, as well a Jewish community back home. Who are against the state of Israel and it's slave treatment of the palestinians.

The ongoing fights in the middle east is about unjust politics. As long as the Palestinian Isreali conflict is on, there will never be peace in the ME. Now, the countries in power don't want to see peace for political goals, I mean why is the U.S. the only country not supporting a ceasefire right now with the conflict in lebanon?

hmmm....your truism is simple...yet it is very correct.

Unfortunately, the hatred between Jews and Muslims dates back even during the time of Abraham.

Remember the biblical passage: "And Abraham begot Ishamel, his son by Hagar, the slave woman.....and Ishmael lived in hostility towards all his brothers and all his brothers live in hostility towards him....." Since that point in time, that hatred has been there.

It wasn't always like that. Before the state of Israel was formed, there were Jews co-existing with Muslims in Palestine (now Israel). The current hate between Jews and Muslims is no longer about who was born first therefore who should be more favored. It's no longer about spiritual or religious superiority anymore. It's all about power, greed and politics - who wants to be the boss?

If those two sides were spiritually focused then they wouldn't even be fighting right now. The Father of the Muslim nation, Ishmael, left Abraham to start his life the way he wanted it. He didn't fight and kill his father and brothers so he could own their wealth. Ishmael made it on his own with the blessing from Allah. ("....Ishmael will become the father of a great nation")

As a Muslim convert, I've seen both sides of the fence. To tell you frankly, it's not Jews versus Muslims.....it's Israelis versus Arabs.....a war between two countries for the shallowest of reasons (land, power, greed, politics, resources, etc.) and for the poorest of excuses (for God they say).

I think it's because we're all one big, dysfunctional family. Think about it... One Brother says, "I want to control Jerusalem..."- & another Brother declares, "No way!- Father gave it to me!" While a third sibling cries up to God, " Nobody will share a part of the Promise Land with me...-boo hoo hoo..." Next thing you know- the three are rolling around on the ground, throwing tantrums & missiles at each other- while the REST of the family stands around & takes sides as to who should get what. In the MEANTIME- God stands on the sidelines with His hands on His hips, shakes His head- & wonders, "Oh no...-Not again...- Where did I go wrong...?" Sure, -It's an oversimplification. But look at ANY family feud- & it looks like a page out of the Middle East all over again... When people as individuals finally get their acts together- & learn to respect their brothers & sisters as equals...- THEN there'll be hope for peace in the world. Til THEN, are YOU- a "cat" person, or a "dog" lover???

The movie "Kingdom of Heaven" conveyed insight of the human slaughter that has been going on for centuries. They want to treat it as an bloodshed honor. Jews want to dominate Palestinians and other Arab nations. Yet Arabs are willing to sacrifice themselves to blow away a couple of Jews.

Back when Israel was on the brink of peace with the Palestinians, Ariel Sharon f_cked everything up by disrepecting something I don't remember about Palestinian holy day of holy sight. Then all the fighting went back to maximum. Just like in the movie "K of H", the king of Jeruselum wanted to make a name for himselfe and started a fight with the Muslims and got himself killed. The Christians then lost Jerusalem.

These people are COOKOO. INSANE IN THE BRAIN.
