Gotta say- new punk is something to be found rarely if ever. Most new stuff is pure pop, and pure crap.
Old punk, however- kickass. The Sex Pistols, The Ramones, The Clash, The Velvet Underground... f***ing awesome.
Today what we've got is "pop punk", which is s***, because how can you have punk that's pop? Punk is going against the mainstream, and if it becomes the mainstream, it loses all that made it punk.

I really love the new punk, for the most part, but you just cannot beat bands like the Ramones, The Sex Pistols and the Clash. You just can't. It's not possible.

OLD PUNK!!!! I'm talking The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Ramones...the good ****.
The only 'new' bands that live up to their standards, in my opinion, are Green Day and MxPx.
nice name by the way ;)

Old punk is so much better. Everything about it...Email or IM me, and I'll give you a great list of kickass punk, maybe even swap. I could always use some ideas on other punk bands to listen too...It's my favorite, but I don't claim to know it all...

Both because they both rule. There are bands like Anti-Flag and The Unseen that are new but are just as good as any of the old punk bands.

there is no new punk as the so called punk crap you listen on mtv is not even close to punk. the old punk spirit is dead and can never be replaced.

Both. I think some of the newer stuff has its ups and downs, and so does the old. But there are different kinds of genres, so it really depends... are you talkin pop punk, hardcore, etc?

Old punk was punk.
New punk is crap, unoriginal and TRENDY.
Sid Vicious or Wendy O Williams would vomit on you for asking this question.
