If he was my significant other and he was serving his country I would wait alot longer than that. If he had any other job than maybe not. Not because of patriotism but because until his hitch is up he has no choice. The reason for a lot of those divorces is because it's very hard to get back into the role of not being the one in charge of every thing. Also because when they have seen combat they aren't the same as when they left. It is not easy being a military spouse as you know but I appauled your hanging in there. Those the cheated didn't deserve their man anyway!

I would definitely wait, I am sure there is nothing better then being away from your significant other for an extended period of time and knowing that he or she is waiting patiently for you to get back home. Are you asking because you are waiting for someone? I would definitely wait especially if he is in the military, and those wives and husbands who cheat on their significant other while they are away is ridiculous, especially those who think the way one poster does...what they don't know won't hurt them. I did.........and have been married for 11yrs now
If you want it bad enough you will have it
Is it fair that a man should have to wait on a woman just as long
sometimes you have to put the shoe on the other foot in order to see both sides
This Dear John stuff is what makes me so MAD
A man goes over to another country and his woman is breaking up with him
tell me what exactly does he have to look forward too when he gets home?

Long-distance relationships are tough... they're hard enough while you're under one roof. There has got to be some DEEP abiding trust, committment, and genine love for people to stuggle through a period of extended separation. But, then again, Navy personnel do it all the time. Still, I guess that's enough for most people to "cave."

I would wait that long for the woman I love. She's pregnant and having issues. I would never cheat on her anyway, let alone do anything untowards her while carrying our child.
As a Soldier, I am appreciative of your patience and love for your husband. Those wives that left, would have left for any reason.

Yes I would! I know I could only marry someone I truly loved, and then I would never ever want to be parted from them, but if I had to be, I would wait for them to return to me. True love isn't something that happens to you everyday.

I tried. He left for Afghanistan but came back and said everything had changed. The only thing that had changed is that the s l u t on the side moved more quickly than I did, I guess.

If you love him, you will wait. Separation is a part of military life...That is some of the bad that comes with the good. Look into your own relationship and try not to compare it to those who have failed. Good Luck.

Yes, I would wait. A year to 18 months sounds like forever, but it goes by just like that.

Sure I'd wait for him. It would give me good practice on being
alone for if & when he returned & dumped me. Because then
I'd Kill him & I'd be able to serve my time standing on my head.
Practice makes perfect.
Seriously, yes, I'd wait dutifuly.
