Life begins as nothing. This is how my life and everyone in the world begins thier life, with absolutely nothing. No ego, no real sense of self, no goals, none of the schemes that we all form in the attempt to make it in this world that man has created. The only thing that any of us really has is a future, and a destiny. And I began life the same way as every other human on this small planet, with nothing but a name and a future. . .

You just contradicted your self, you say “life begins as nothing” and than you say “…with nothing but a name and a future. . .” so in essence every life begins with a future?

Life in it self is something. It is a proverbial pair of walking shoes that was handed to you just as your lungs opened for the very first time and you were told “here you don’t have much time, the universe is yours for the taking”

DISAGREE. We do not begin life the same way as every other human in this small planet. There are people who are born rich which give them a headstart to have a comfortable life, some are more beautiful or smarter than the rest. But then again, the difference lies on how each of us make the best of what we have and live a happy life.

We must all notice the first step in our arguments, "I believe."

When you say, "life begins at nothing," how certain are you that this is unquestionably true? Have you ever experienced the true start of life? Yet, the same can be said for those who disagree with this thought. Where is their firm ground to make such claims?

The most important thing about your question is not if someone agrees or disagrees, but rather if their belief can send them on the right path through life. If it does, then there is nothing better, and if it doesn't, then hopefully they have their own similarly gratifying outlook.

I believe that we are the sum of our life from conception to the present moment. Life may begin with nothing, but the things we get along the way (egg and sperm, cells, genes, nurturing, nutrition, hostility, love, education, opportunities....) influence the unique individuals that we become. Self-determination is about making the best of what you have. It's not a yardstick. Everyone has different stuff with which to work.

So, I agree in some respects while disagreeing in others.

Disagree. All life comes from somewhere.
Even babies have ego, you can see it in nurseries. Some sense of self is pre-set or some would say hard-wired. Nuture has some play, sure, but it isn't everything.

None of us is guaranteed a future.

There is no guarantee that each of us gets a name, that only happens if parents are present and do such.

The beginning of each person's life is unique, no one's beginning is the same.

And I disagree, I don't believe the world, "this world" was created solely by "man". Don't forget the women who have delivered these babies you state have "no ego"...

I believe life had to come from, or evolve from, somewhere or someone.

I have to disagree that we are born empty. I believe that we are born with a sense of morality. Perhpas we inherit in our genes or our DNA has evolved with it over millions of years. Though further experience in life does redefine our values, I do believe that we are not born entirely destitute of morals. And I believe that this fact more than anything else biological makes us a human entity.
So, no I do not agree that "Life begins as nothing".

This is a question which has puzzled Philospher's for ages. Neither Socrates or Plato would agree with you as they would say that you are born with inbuilt knowledge which you 'remember' as you learn. And anyone who believes in reincarnation would also not agree with you. But there are many who do take your side. We are born with a tablua rasa (a blank slate) and we are molded by our experiences - Satre viewed matters in this way; he also said that there is no meaning to life other than what we give it.

I'm not sure. When we are born, we are born with the genes of our parents and have certain personality traits that are inhereted, tendencies, physioligical traits, temperments etc. So we are not born entirely as a clean/blank slate. This actually gives some people an edge and some people more of a challenge in their future lives.

Agree, but some people's destinies and futures are brighter because they lucked out and were born into much better situation that others.
