Goose down can be washed in a commercial washer on the gentle cycle. Use a mild low suds soap such a s Ivory Snow, Dreft or Wool-ite. Do not use a fabric softener or dryer sheets. Dry the comforter by itself on low with a tennis ball or clean tennis shoe. They help keep the down distributed evenly and fluffs the fibers. Check every 30 mins. Be sure it is fully dry before putting back into a duvet cover(which I highly recommend), as it will mold. You only need to wash it 1 to 2 times a year. If you are not comfortable with washing yourself, you can have it dry cleaned. I don't usually recommend dry-cleaning because it breaks down the fibers faster and they won't fluff as well. If you dry clean, once a year or less is best.

Do exactly what empresstiger said to do. I have a goose down comforter and washed it in my washer, which is super capacity. I washed it on a very hot day, because I knew from past experience with my down coat it might not dry completely in the dryer and hung it up on the line in the backyard to finish the 'dry cycle'. Trust me it is cheaper than the dry cleaners and you will do a much better job of cleaning it than they would. Use the tennis balls as empresstiger suggested, it helps.

Take it to the dry cleaners. It's down, which should never be washed in water. You will end up with a huge, lumpy, nasty comforter that will never be the same again.

Give this one to the pro's a comforter that size when wet is going to weigh like a million pounds when it' wet and you may end up with feathers all over the place.

My friend washes her comforter in her washer and she says to just put it in and run it on the regular cycle, If it won't fit in the washer, take it to the cleaners and put it in the commercial washers.

Check the tags...but I'm pretty sure you can just throw it in the washer and dryer (if it'll fit). You can always take it to a laundromat that has larger washers...
