I agree with most of the people on the fact that cichlids probably have the biggest personality of any fish I have had. Some more than others. I know that Oscars and Convicts will redecorate a tank on a daily basis. I have Cons at home that make holes in the gravel around rocks and knock them over. We have an Oscar at work that drags the silk plants back and forth in his 55 gallon tank by wrapping himself up in them. Not all cichlids are quite so entertaining.....but those two species I can vouch for.
Clown loaches also can be fun when you have a group of three or more.
