Yes, it seems kinda demeaning.

It can't be very comfortable for the critters' to have their fur all mushed and mussed the wrong way- though for some short-haired animals little sweaters and jackets are a good idea, in cold weather. Otherwise, those cute little outfits are really more for the owner than for the animal.

I do, I have a chihuahua, but the only time I "dressed" him up was when my dad brought him home for me, it was the spring time and he doesn't have much hair to this day and gets cold easy, but anyhoo I bought him a little green fleece coat that he wore till he grew out of it but he was only 6 weeks old too, it wasn't clothes looking just a plain green fleece coat for him to wear and then summer came and he grew out of it and has not worn clothes since then, he just wants to cuddle and be covered by a blanket.

as long as the outfit does not present any kind of danger to the animal then no I dont disagree. I used to dress my horse up for costume classes at the shows. plus in the winter, i put sweaters on my littlest dogs so that they stay warm- and they love it.

I put a Rapunzel hat on my bird once for fun. He didn't care and laughed. I also tore a napkin and put it on him like a poncho. He had a great time and danced around. Other than the few times of playing around I don't dress up my animals.

Well I have cats, so I don't have that problem. When you put clothes on a cat it just slumps over. It becomes instantly paralyzed.
Dressed up dogs are funny though. Have you ever noticed the look they have on their face while dressed up is anything but happy!

Other than when its nessesary. Like when you have a little dog in a cold area, or are putting a PFD on your dog for a boat trip.
Or for a Horse costume class.
Otherwise, nothing more than a scarf.

the world will not see the error in its ways until Paris Hiltons Chihuaha is wearing a tiny chinchilla coat and 4 alligator skin boots.

I think it's cute if it's for a photo shoot for an ad or something where they wear it for a couple of hours and that's it. But when it's for the whole friggin' day... then it's stupid. They should be free!
