Hey guys. i have really mild acne but no matter how small.. it's really annoying so I want to get rid of it. I am going to my family doctor next week and i want him to prescribe me retin-A and/or ortho-try-cyclen birth control pill that will help me with my face. did anyone use retin-a? are there any other treatments i should mention to him? btw i've used proactive. it was great but my skin was too sensitive so it burned it. salicilic acid works but so damn slow. and tea tree oil works sometimes and sometimes makes it 3x worse.btw. i really recommend using sulfer soap..really amazing thing. thank you.

Retin-A can be really tough if your skin is sensitive plus you have to stay out of the sun. Get Murad!!!! I had acne for 9 months and tried everything. Dermatologist, antibiotics, Retin-A, ProActiv, Ortho Tri-Cyclen and even Microdermabrasion you name it. Saw the Murad infomercial, figured what the heck, another thing I'll try that won't work. In 2 weeks I saw a BIG difference & now my face is clear & looks great. It's a 3 step process using salicylic acid and sulphur & it really works! It's now been 2 months & my face is totally clear. Check it out at www.murad.com. Good Luck!!

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

Ask for Retin A Microgel (not Retin A Gel, which is different), also ask about Benzac (which is a benzyol peroxide treatment) and Yasmin Birth Control Pill which is good for acne. Good luck!

Yes retin-A works. I have just started to use it along with tetracycline and my face is clearing up nicely. Just make sure you wash your face twice daily and use oil free moisturizer when you can. If the retin-A drys your face out too much by using it every night, try every other night. It is a great medicine.
