I was arrested recently for driving on a suspended license which I didnt know I had, when I was being booked a group of officers started ragging on me and the passenger, calling me "the fat one" and the other girl the "nasty one", she had been swimming so her thongs were in her pocket, the officer told the others about her big pair of nasty thongs, they all laughed, then the officer called me a liar and said I was dumb. I was scared so I didn't say anything then. I went to court 3 days later and I was convicted of the crime but feel more voilated by the police then by the fine. I don't have any witnesses, Could I sue for harrassment, or is it too late?

The girl who was with me was released even though she admitted to the officers that she was smoking pot. I was taken to jail because my ga drivers license was suspend with no notifcation.

You can file a complaint, you can file a lawsuit, you can do anything you want.....

Proving it and winning is a whole different matter altogether. It's not the matter of time, it's the matter of having anything to prove your statement.

What IS possible is, if you can somehow get other people to testify they, too, have been treated equally badly, yes, you have a chance.

If you really want to do this, arrest records are public records. You can obtain it at the court house, and start calling.

Yes - it is difficult.

you wouldnt win even if u tried to sue. How do u not have witnesses if your friend was in the car with you? Even if you had witnesses it is likely to be dropped in court cause you cant prove it.

Anyone can sue. You best chance of winning, and collecting, will be (and don't b*tch if you find my answer offensive) if you are black and on welfare.
