Drink a cup of hot lavender tea. It's non-caffinated. Take a warm bath or shower using lavender essential oil based bath gel. Play soothing spa music. Diffuse your room with pure natural lavender essential oil (4 drops will do in an electrical diffuser). Use herbal hot-compress with lavender scent by microwaving it 2 minutes on high and hug to sleep. If this doesn't work, then try taking melantonin. Don't rely on sleeping pills as they are addictive. If you hate lavender, try roman chamomile instead.

I read somewhere that sometimes having "white noise" helps with sleeping problems. That's when I found that I can fall asleep much easier with a fan running. Now I can't fall asleep without a fan running. It'll be freezing cold outside but there will still be a box fan running in my room!

I have also done this: Lay down in a comfortable position. And then starting at your toes think about how relaxed your toes are, how relaxed your feet are, your ankles.... and slowly work your way up your body. Take some time with each part to relax them. Usually I don't get past my stomach before I'm dozing off.

Take Melatonin -- a natural herb that will help you get to sleep.

I take four each night and it helps me get to sleep and then sleep through the whole night.

You can't OD on these things -- your body takes in what it needs and has the rest leave your system.

Not addictive.

Great stuff -- you can get it at any drug store or target or jewel.

I don't have severe insomnia, but on nights when I have trouble sleeping, I take 1 Benydryl capsule. It makes me sleepy.

Get yourself a good man who can give you a great relaxing massage. I've put many people to sleep. Don't forget a nice soothing music with no vocals.
