i have a 1995 toyota 4runner 3.0L sr5 that i bought used from a private dealer. my buddy has a 1989 4runner and his has leaf springs and mine doesn't. i know that they're differen't generations and style. He say's mine should but im not sure because i don't see any brackets for them.

THEY CHANGED MOST OF SUVS TO COIL SPRINGS STARTING EARLY 90'S DEPENDING ON MAKE COIL SPRINGS GIVE A SOFTER RIDE AND IN SOME CASES BETTER HANDLING IF THEY WENT INDEPENDENT AT THE SAME TIME MARKETING WAS THE BIGGEST REASON APPEALS TO A WIDER RANGE OF CUSTOMERS NOT EVERY ONE LIKES LEAFS ALL THE WAY AROUND A TRUCK LIKE ME

My 96 has coils. Kinda like a 4 link set-up. That's how they came. It was the big improvement for ride when your generation came out.
