I'm serious, if you're on your way home from work, your wife is cooking dinner and has run out of milk and asks you to stop and buy some milk on your way home when you drive right by the market anyway.....Do you stop? Or do you come home and then have your wife go get it?

I just have to add, thank you so much for all the great answers, I see I'm not crazy to ask him. But honestly, the way he acts when I ask...its like I've asked his to get a vasectomy or something. So I was just trying to figure ouyt if this was something that only happened in TV shows, because he's NEVER stopped to get me milk!!! I always have to go back out once he is home..ALWAYS! Ok...done venting...keep answering, thanks!

There is no question about it. YES I would stop for milk. I would also use that chance to pick up something special for the little lady! Most good grocery stores now have pretty good floral departments. I would get her some fresh flowers, and a few other things to show how much I appreciate her. I would put all of the items, including the milk in a nice basket and leave it on the front seat of the car when I got home. I would go in the house, and when she asks where the milk is, I would tell her that I forgot, and ask her if she could just run to the store to get it. In a huff she would go out to get into the car to find the milk as well as the little "I love you" basket I put together. It would make her day.
But sadly, I am single right now, so I really don't have anybody asking me to stop for milk on the way home. But if I did, that is what I would do.

My husband stops by the grocery store quite a bit. He, too, does laundry, mops the floors, vacuums, does the dishes, cooks, takes my car to get an oil change and vacuums it out, take our daughter for walks in the stroller, reads books and plays with our daughter, etc. He does all of this on top of a full-time job and without being asked to lift a finger. He's quite the husband...and Mr. Mom!

My husband is too happy to stop for milk or bread or anything else I need from the market. Even now that our kids are older, he still calls on his way home and asks if we need anything from the store.
He's good that way. I think it's just because he likes to eat and he knows that if I need something from the store for dinner, he's going to have to wait longer to eat if I go get it myself.

I always get the milk and many times get the groceries, too. My wife stays at home all day and is burned out by nite so I end up getting everything.
In your situation it is a no-brainer. Your husband, out of pure respect, should stop and get the milk.

Depends. I have to admit there are times when I've been asked to stop at the store and have had other, more pressing matters on my mind, and have forgotten to stop. But I do apologize when that happens. And there has also been a time or two when the horrors of the workplace have me so craving the safety of my home that I just couldn't bring myself to stop anywhere. I needed the safety of my home for my sanity. But I apologize then also.

Why do we constantly allow guys to depict the way we feel or behave.
I'm sure most of us feel that we are independent self-reliant women yet when a guy doesn't call, we feel like ****. Suddenly we are no longer confident. Does he not like me anymore? Like wat the ****. I need to get off that hook. I need to think that i can move on. I know i can but i need time. After that i want no more emotional attachments cos they eventually hurt u. But i know no matter how much u tell urself to keep things simple..it becomes complicated.
Sch is ******* stressful with mid-terms on their way and project deadlines approaching like a looming dark cloud. Life has never been this stressful and boring. It's a routine. Sch-project meeting-home. But i dun think i can handle any distraction. It'll be too hectic. But my darlings..u can come and disturb me anytime. I appreciate the asking of my well being and concern from u people. It really helps.
I just want to make sure i never fall into the trap again. No matter how shitty or boring life can be..it's still better than having ur heart heaved out of ur body and being trampled on.

I will stop if it is something we need. But if it isn't something we need right away, it can wait. And, don't call me and ask me to get something that you forgot today while you were there. Yeah, I can be an ***, sometimes. That is why you should make a grocery list. To keep you from forgetting stuff.

A decent man would stop and get the milk or anything else she might ask for.

Depends how tired and how far extra to go, but usually, yeah. I can see being so tired and stressed that I would not like to do that as the first thing after work, but I usually do when I remember.
