we just moved 5000 miles away from eveything ive ever known, how do i meet new people, i dont really do the bar thing. thanks!

Join clubs. Take a swimming class, an exercise class (Tae Boe, aerobics, etc.) I really want to take strippersizing. I think that the best way to meet people is to join a group that is rather small, so you can interact with the same people over and over again!

Is there a Learning Annex in your city (look online?). If so, take classes. Go swimming at the YMCA/YWCA, or, take lessons if you don't know how to swim, tennis lessons, pottery, cooking classes, dance, etc. Join a gym.
If you like theater, call the community theaters and ask if they have a volunteer program. Volunteer at the hospital, Crisis Hotline, Red Cross. Some museums have volunteer programs.
If you are religious, get involved with your church, synagouge, etc.

What if you don't go to church, like me?
You could go join a club or group of some kind.
Or, heck, volunteer somewhere! Before my dad got remarried he would go to the animal shelter and volunteer to walk the dogs. He met a lot of people that way.

Awesome, where did you move from? I guess you can go to the city and know your way around it or just hang out at a library or Starbucks and sit alone. Oh, GO TO BARNES AND NOBLE. Awesome place to meet people.

I always thought the mall was a great place to meet new people and get a great outfit. If not you can also try the movies.

join a fitness club or a book club or lol...... go to the club. you don't have to go to a bar ..... throw a small party yourself w/ a few of your friends and tell everyone to invite 3 or 4 people.

Find hobbies you like on line and see if anyone has a group around your area! Do a yahoo search.
