If this is something you really want, try and figure out what you have in common with them and then become good at it. However, unless you can deal with uber peer pressure, you may find that wanting is not so great a thing as having.

There is really nothing you can do. It's just one of those things. All you can be is yourself and if you aren't meant to be one of the 'popular girls' then you're not. It doesn't make you any less of a person. It doesn't mean you're not worth people's time, it just means that you're not meant to be friends with those people and you should just accept it. Love the friends you have and just be happy with who you are.

You're in high school, I assume.
There's a great essay you should read about high school life.
If I had this when I was in school, I would probably be a much happier person than I am right now.
Granted, this is from a slightly different bent than you're looking for, but really, this is good stuff.

You don't need to be friends with the popular people. The popular poeple suck. Besides, most popular kids get into drugs and alcohol, and I'm guessing that you don't want to throw your life away. Try and find, friends who aren't so childish.

its attitude baby.. watch and observe how the popular ones move and talk, try it out in front of a mirror first and always create a simple move that would entice people like a wink everytime you agree with someone on a topic, din't wink at everybody just discreet winks. its like a personal secrect shared with only two of you. be friendly but don't throw yourself at people openly.. always flirt.. flirt with everyone, try wearing a thong..you'll feel different..after you feel the difference youself go out and try your new found power.. people will be acttracted to you.. be mysterious..

they get fat, old, knocked up, and miserable
their glories days are the high school days and it's nothing but downhill from there
the opposite is true for the nerds, so opt for nerdism, it's got a better future

Why would you want to. Most of the "Popular" girls in High School are also Stuck Up and only want to be with those that are "rich kids".
You don't seem stuck up to me.

DEFINITION (IN REALITY) OF POPULAR KID
-rich
-stuck up rude snobby
-person who thinks very highly of themselves
-person who makes fun of or puts people down
-thinks they are better than everyone else
-feels they need to have a certain group of friends or table to feel special
-thinks that if you make fun of somebody then its cool and you laugh it off
why would you want to be like that? just ask yourself. will people really think that its cool to be just like that? so what if you are not popular?
the real cool kids are the kids who have the friends who are friends with them not because they are popular but because they are their own person.

Don't lower yourself to their level. There's entirely too much of that going around! Talk to someone who's been to their 10-yr high school reunion and ask them who's worthy of respect now.
